This presentation describes executions, mass killings and other violence, as recorded in eyewitness testimony.
Ioannis Papadopoulos, from Kerasounta (Giresun), was one of 13 Greek musicians forced to accompany Topal Osman's irregular forces during their 1921 campaign against the Kurds and the Pontic Greeks. He was the only one of the 13 to survive.
This presentation follows his firsthand testimony, published in 1965 as “Pages from the History of Kerasounta and the Atrocities of Topal Osman”. It traces, stop by stop, what he lived through and witnessed between February and August 1921.
